Click on the link below for a map to the Northstar Ski Area. Unless the weather is REAL bad, I would recommend driving on Hwy 28 around Lake Tahoe to the Hwy 267 turnoff near Kings Beach. The Northstar Ski Resort will be on your left (west) before you reach Truckee. This race is a logistical nightmare. Once you park your car, get ready for the rest of your journey. Head to the base Village, find the courtesy ticket office, pick up your complimentary tram tickets, board the tram, take the ride up the hill, exit and start hiking towards your right (northerly). About now, you will wish that you had worked out with the ski team, because you are breathing hard and sweating, but alas! Behold the race course.... and if you were feeling sorry for yourself, pity your little athlete out there, for they have a tough race course to negotiate.
